Acrylic and Gel Impasto on Canvas

Applying daubs of acrylic paint, offset by different mark-making created with the end of a paint brush, I love to build an array of patterns and textures. To help build my paint, I use a mix-in gel impasto medium.
Recently, I've been experimenting with bright and vibrant colours, such as pinks, oranges and blues. I have developed a distinct technique of applying light on dark and dark on light, which contributes to the rich tertiary colour palette and symbolises Australia’s varied landscape.
The emotional connection to the land is supported through my art making.
My driving motivation for creating landscape artworks is to redefine our relationship with the land. By exaggerating the colours and shape of each landscape, my intention is to create a catalyst of emotion and both elicit and exchange memories with the viewer.
