Madeleine Luschwitz

Madi Luschwitz is an Australian artist with a love for nature and its rhythms. Art has always been a huge part of life from a young age observing her mother creating, learning through quilting, painting and ceramics thus developing a strong instinct to express emotions, passions and feelings through the creation of an object. Madi’s Father being a geologist consolidating a reverence for the environment.
Presently Madi is exploring the dynamic-ness of the feminine experience particularly reflecting on her own experience as a mother to triplets and the broad range of emotion and wilderness that comes with that territory. Often drawing from different symbols inspired by mythology, tribal mark making, animals and nature to convey an energy or emotion. Her sculptures are otherworldly, fierce, vulnerable and sturdy. Paused in a moment of reflection, bliss, howling anger or pure animalistic existence.
Birthed from her perspective but open to interpretation, Madi invites you to bring yourself into the story. What do these poses or creatures mean to you where do they resonate? What do they inspire in you?
