Justin Pearson

Justin Pearson is a fine arts painter whose work captures the essence of fleeting moments, mythological narratives, and operatic drama. A graduate of Byam Shaw School of Art (Central Saint Martins) in London, he has exhibited extensively across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and most recently in Bodalla, NSW.

Deeply influenced by the theatrical world, Justin has spent years as an unofficial artist in residence at the English National Opera and Sydney Opera House, sketching rehearsals and performances from the wings. This immersive experience informs his evocative portraits and dynamic compositions, including his Archibald Prize entries featuring baritones Warwick Fyfe and Jud Arthur, from The Australian Opera Company.

His latest collection, Fantasia, reflects the landscapes encountered on his travels from Bodalla to Mittagong. With a masterful command of oil paint, he translates light, movement, and colour into expansive canvases, creating works that are both dramatic and luminous.
