ON MY WAY HOME

A Solo Exhibition by Sarana Haeata

April 2nd till April 29th

Sarana Haeata's exhibition On My Way Home is a deeply personal exploration of movement, surrender, and the fluidity of womanhood and motherhood. With a career that has evolved through various mediums-from detailed pencil drawings to ceramics and digital art-Haeata's current work reflects a culmination of these diverse phases, now woven into a cohesive, expansive stle that speaks to both emotional depth and freedom. Her latest bod of work captures the essence of surrendering control, particularly through the metaphor of falling, and contrasts with her previous focus on stillness and isolation.

Influenced by her move to the expansive south coast of WA, the exhibition reflects the constant motion in her life, raising four daughters alongside her husband, and the joyful, chaotic moments that arise from it. Haeata draws inspiration from historical influences such as of Gauguin, Matisse and Helen Frankenthaler. She continues to be motivated by a core belief: art is what she must offer the world, a necessity for her personal growth and identity.

This exhibition invites viewers into a space where movement and emotional release are celebrated, with the artist's unique perspective on motherhood and womanhood at its heart.
